 Munkhtsetseg Namsrai works as the head of the Applied Linguistics Department at the Institute of Linguistics and Literature, Mongolian Academy of Sciences. Ms Namsrai has published nine books, edited ten books, written fifty-seven articles, and given sixty presentations in the fields of Mongolian terminology, linguistics, applied linguistics, and sociolinguistics. Her research topics focus on terminology, translation, corpus linguistics, and language acquisition.
She is a member of Examining Board for Ph.D Defense in Linguistics of Mongolia and a member of the Technical Committee of Terminology Mongolian Agency of Standardization and Metrology.
She has been involved in several projects, including the project “Online Dictionary of Key Terms of Sciences” financed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sciences and Sports. She initiated and acts as local coordinator of the Austrian and Mongolian scientists’ joint project “Terminology planning strategy and terminology infrastructure for Mongolia to support scientific and educational development and innovation” (2020-2024). She also initiated and leads the project “A Study of Mongolian terminology standardization and localization of ISO TC37 standards” (2022-2024).
